About JCK Training

Connor Kinsella JCK TrainingJCK Training was established in 1998 by mental health nurse Connor Kinsella. Connor has written or co-authored several successful books including Introducing Mental Health for Jessica Kingsley Publishers, and is a social care training contributor to The Guardian Online.

JCK Training is now a training provider and consultancy for a number of local authorities,NHS Trusts, charities and supported housing providers throughout the UK, and designs and writes training packs for national and international organisations.

We are currently working with the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health to develop a nationwide mental health training system, and will soon be launching a series of innovative new UK-wide Train the Trainer events in 2012.

Our training style is highly interactive, with an emphasis on communicating our subject matter in a way which guarantees engagement, discussion and learning and is aimed firmly at the needs of front-line workers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many delegates can attend one of your courses?

We can work with as few as 5 and as many as 25. We do of course ask that the training venue is suitable for the size of the group - we use lots of small group work and interactivity!
We charge on a 'per course' basis and not 'per person' so the more the merrier. We are also happy to work with training consortia particularly if this makes courses affordable for as many as possible.

How much does your training cost?

Full details of our pricing are available in the current brochure and here. We can run a high impact 1-day course for up to 25 delegates for as little as £600 plus travel and accommodation expenses. We can now offer shorter 3-hour workshops for most of our courses. Please contact us for details.

Tell us about your short 3-hour workshops?

In most cases our courses can be delivered as short 3-hour workshops. We do ask that you book consecutive AM and PM sessions to make this a cost-effective option for both you and ourselves, and of course the learning objectives and course delivery will be altered to some degree to offer maximum impact over the shortest period of time. Please get in touch for further details.

Who can attend your courses?

We work with a wide variety of qualified and unqualified workers in the care and support fields. From local authorities to and Primary Care Trusts to private and voluntary sector care providers we've trained many hundreds of staff from dozens of organisations throughout the UK and Ireland. If you're working with people we probably have a course for you.

How do we guarantee quality?

We pride ourselves in the quality of our experienced trainers and work closely with our clients to ensure delegate feedback is shared with training managers and HR staff. With ever changing practice and research developments we are constantly updating our course material to reflect the best possible practice in health and social care.

Most of our clients have worked with us on a repeat basis and we are more than happy to provide references and genuine delegate feedback.
