Personality Disorder affects approximately 1 in 10 of us directly, and many more than this as a consequence of failed relationships, aggression, criminality and chaotic lifestyles.

This course can be structured as a 1-day seminar although the 2-day equivalent allows a more thorough examination of the diagnosis and the skills needed to work with Personality Disordered clients. The course content takes a straightforward and practical approach to a client group who have seldom been well understood by health and social care professionals. The course uses a wealth of practical examples, case studies and group exercises to help participants understand what Personality Disorder actually means and how doctors and psychologists apply the label to an individual.

The course also introduces the Personality Disorder Toolkit to help care workers identify new and existing strategies for helping and supporting a client group who are almost universally unpopular and controversial, and yet can be shown to make significant progress given the right surroundings and input from staff.
